Pricing and Policy

Your quote will include materials, labor, and shipping estimates.  Depending on the design and material required, I may need to price the material prior to providing a final quote.  Materials include all fabric, thread, etc, as well as any accessories.  Labor includes the time involved in the build process.

You are responsible for the payment of shipping and handling. Cost will depend on where in the USA you live, the weight of the costume, and the size of the box necessary.  I will not ship without shipping insurance!  If something were to happen to your costume in shipping, the cost would only be returned to us for the declared value, so it is prudent that we are cautious with shipping for my protection and yours.

I require the payment for materials quoted plus 25% of the labor cost to be paid up front.   All clients are given a customized payment plan we agree upon during our consultation.   For more complicated and expensive designs, I will accept a payment plan for my commission deposit; however, please understand that I cannot begin production until the minimum commissioner's deposit is made and you have accepted the terms of our contract.

Please allow up to six weeks for production.  Rush orders are available with an added fee.

Final payment is due once the costume is completed and approved.  Final payment must be made prior to shipping. 

​​The contract will outline the scope of work to be performed by me and the payment terms we have agreed upon.  The contract also includes photo credit and the linking back to magicallysewn.com in all photos posted online of the costume.  I would also LOVE to receive a photo of you in your costume for my portfolio!! 

Cancellations and returns.  Upon receipt of your commission deposit and executed contract, I will begin production of your costume.  Once materials are purchased and your costume build has begun, commission deposits are non-refundable.   Completed custom costumes are non-refundable once shipped.  A great deal of time, cost and effort goes into each custom costume.  Additionally, once the design is completed and prior to shipping, the customer receives photos for final approval.

It is the client's responsibility to ensure measurements are correct.  Please take a moment to view the information on our Taking Measurements page.  Correct measurements are vital to ensuring the correct fit of your costume.  

I am happy to make minor adjustments to your final costume at no charge, however, shipping costs will remain the customer's responsibility.
